Fun times at the zoo!

On Monday morning we went to the MN Zoo with a group of friends. We got all of the kids (except for the three babies in the group) to pose for a photo together on the tiger sculptures! Getting 9 little children to stay together long enough to snap a photo is a big accomplishment. :)
On the big tiger in back: Calvin, Molly, and Hunter; Middle: Hannah and Madeleine; Front: Lucille, Liam, Alex, and Jane

After the long walk to see the outside animals, the kids all needed a snack! I thought they looked cute all lined up on the bench. (L to R: Hannah, Mado, Molly, Hunter, Calvin, andLucille)

Pumpkin Carving

My parents came to visit over the weekend, and my dad helped Molly carve pumpkins! Molly was so happy and excited! :)

Thanks to the new kid-safe pumpkin knives, she actually got to do some carving! She still wouldn't put her hands inside the pumpkin to scoop out the seeds. Grandpa had to do that. :)

Here are Molly and Alex with the carved pumpkins. The idea for the one on the right came from Molly's Trick or Treating pail. Molly designed the one on the left herself. She said its mouth is open with its tongue sticking out! :) Very creative (and funny, since that's how Molly has been "posing" for a lot of photos herself lately).

Grandma played a lot of games with Molly. Thank you! :)

Children's Museum

Molly, Alex, and I met some friends at the Children's Museum this morning. We had a great time.
Molly loved playing with the ribbons and scarves.

The Curious George exhibit was a hit!

Alex loves buttons. He was digging this cash register. :)

Curious George

Molly and Alex love the Curious George books and cartoons. Today we were at the Children's Museum and "George" made an appearance. The kids loved it! Alex was so excited to see and hug "George"! It was so sweet. :)

The Park at MOA

My uncle Mike and Kim sent us tickets for unlimited ride wristbands at the Park at MOA (formerly Camp Snoopy). How nice is that?!?! We met the Petersons there for a fun morning. :) In the photo above, Cory and Molly are bumping Mike and Evan. It was Molly's first time in bumper cars, and she loved it!

Molly and Evan loved the race cars too!

Alex and Molly had a great time! I wasn't sure Alex would be ok riding some of these by himself, but he LOVED it. :) They were so excited to run from ride to ride and go on so many!

Dinosaurs

Molly drew the dinosaurs in the above picture. Aren't they adorable????
Her preschool class is focusing on one letter per week. "D" is the letter of the week this week, and Molly had some homework (can you believe it? Homework in preschool?!?) with optional ideas to do to further learn about the letter D. One of the choices was to draw a dinosaur. I drew a different one on a different piece of paper so she had an example, but she did these without any help. I was impressed!

Love

Today, Molly and Alex were playing together when Molly called out, "Mom, come take a picture of us!" So I did. :) In fact, I took several. :) Molly and Alex have really started to play well together. They love each other so much. It is so sweet!
In case you were wondering, Alex wasn't wearing a shirt because he had just eaten some yogurt, and his shirt was too yogurt-splattered to finish out the day.

Funny Quotes:

Cory was trying to get Molly and Alex to help clean up toys in the living room.
Cory: Molly, you are big enough to clean up after yourself.
Molly: No, I will do that when I'm like twenty-five.

We were trying to get Molly to eat some chicken at dinner one night. Molly didn't like the sauce it was in and told us, "I can't eat this. I'm allergic!"

Another night, she was eating chicken and dipping it into ketchup. Molly said, "Do you know what happens when we run out of chicken?" "We use our fingers!" (to dip into the ketchup...and then lick the ketchup off of her fingers. Ick.)

This morning Molly was showing a friend some of her dinosaur toys. She held up a stegosaurus and said, "This one is porky. He can pork the other ones." LOL! I reminded her that pork is meat and she meant POKE. LOL!

Everybody has been talking to Molly about her fabulous new haircut when they see her. This morning, some friends were talking to Molly about it and Alex patted his hair and said, "Mine cut!" I guess he wanted some attention and compliments on his new cut too! :)

---
Molly's weekend highlight was getting to go to her buddy Calvin's 3rd birthday party. Happy Birthday Cal!
Calvin had a magician at his party, and Molly and Cal got to be his assistants. Molly LOVED it. She laughed so hard at the tricks and kept saying, "How did THAT happen?!?!" It was really fun. One of the tricks involved Molly squeezing one red sponge ball tightly in her hand. She was supposed to make it disappear, but when she opened her hand around 7 little balls came flying out. She is still talking about that! "How did THAT happen?!?!?!?"
