T-Ball

Alex ready to swing

This summer, Molly and Alex are in soccer, t-ball, and swimming lessons. They love it! T-ball and soccer are through the Minneapolis rec centers, and they are in the ones for ages 3-5. It's great that they can play on the same team this year!

We have asked Molly and Alex several times which sport they like best right now. They say they like them all, but that t-ball is best because at the end of every t-ball night, the coach gives them each freezies. Ahh, yes. It's all about the freezies.

Hair Cuts

Tonight I gave Cory, Molly, and Alex all hair cuts. Cory went first, and Alex picked up some of Cory's cut hair from the floor and put it on his chest so he could have chest hair like Daddy. Alex is always trying to get a laugh!
Also... notice Alex's hair BEFORE the hair cut. He has beautiful curls, but his hair is really fine. It was starting to look pretty scraggly. I was sad to cut off his curls, but it seemed like it was time.

AFTER! What do you think? Is it better short, or should I let it grow out long again?

Another After shot of Alex.

We made recycled crayons this week. I had Molly and Alex find all of their short or broken crayons and peel the paper off. Then they put the crayon pieces into a silicone molds (one was a mini-muffin pan with a crack in it so it's no longer going to be used for food, and one was an Ikea fish-shaped ice cube tray that I bought for this project). Then we baked them in the oven until melted and let them cool. Molly and Alex loved the project. The new crayons turned out well except that the fails broke off of my fish when I popped them out of the mold.

4th of July fun

We watched fireworks in downtown Minneapolis with some friends. Here Cory, Molly, and Alex are waiting for the fireworks to start.

Sara brought sparklers. It was Molly and Alex's first time doing them. Molly thought it was the best part of the night!

Alex thought they were pretty cool, too.

We saw some beautiful fireworks!
This was the first year that we've kept Molly and Alex up late to see them, and it was really fun! :)

Sidewalk Paint

Molly and Alex (and their friends) love sidewalk paint. Here's my recipe: equal parts water and corn starch plus a few drops of food coloring. Mix and paint! It looks like sidewalk chalk when it dries, but it's much more fun!

Father's Day... Cotton Candy

My parents came to visit on Father's Day, and we all went to the Twins game together. Sadly, we didn't get any family photos or photos of the kids with Cory that day, but we got plenty of Molly and Alex enjoying their cotton candy during the game.

Yum!

I think you got some on your nose, Alex!

Bubble Wrap hats and more

Alex found some sheets of bubble wrap and made hats for everyone in our family. Molly was in a crabby mood that day and refused to wear hers, but here is a photo of the rest of us looking very stylish. :)

Alex has been really into making his own snack mixes. He likes to have a bunch of different kinds of cereal all poured together in a bowl. On this particular day, he put together his mix himself and even found some marshmallows to add to his bowl. He was very proud of it.

Como Town (the amusement park attached to Como Zoo) offered free rides one evening in June. We decided to brave the crowds, and Molly and Alex loved it!

Molly's Europe Song

Before school ended, I taped Molly singing all of the countries of Europe. There are so many!
Listen closely... she sings quickly!

Catching up again...

This family photo was actually taken on Mothers Day. I am so behind at blogging! I'm probably going to lose any followers I had if I don't start blogging more. I will try to be better! The worst part is that when I'm behind, I forget all the hilarious things Molly and Alex say.

Lunch time at Como Zoo! A bunch of us went to the zoo, and htis is the best group shot I got.

Children's Museum! They love painting their faces! They all have their hands up because my camera was acting up and Leah was trying to keep their attention. :)

Molly and I ran the Duck Pond game at her school carnival. It was fun. Molly did a great job.
