Happy Easter (continued)

Molly was part of a short Easter program at church. She sang really nicely.

We made Jello Jiggler eggs. Molly and Alex loved them!

Happy Easter!

He is Risen!!!! Happy Easter to you all!

Molly and Alex loved their Easter baskets!

They both got wind-up flashlights in their baskets. Molly and Alex love flashlights... but they have been going through batteries like crazy. These wind-up ones are great!

Molly & Alex

We had breakfast at church, and afterwards some of the kids were playing on the chair rack. Alex likes swinging from the bar. :)

Mexico?

Molly is learning about outer space this week in preschool. She brought home this drawing. I asked her what she drew. She said, "The Earth, a star, and Mexico." Mexico??? I asked her to show me which is which. From L to R they are in that order, Earth, star, Mexico. LOL. I asked her what she learned about Mexico. She told me she couldn't remember.

Maybe she overheard something on the radio or TV about "aliens" from Mexico? :)

More Easter Fun!

Here's Alex at the egg hunt.

Molly picking up eggs.

Here are the cookies they decorated. Molly did the purple one completely by herself. I helped Alex with his blue frosting, but he put the M&M's and sprinkles on it.

Yum! Cookies!

Easter Fun!

Today there was a fun Easter event at a local rec center for preschoolers and toddlers. It was really fun! Molly and Alex got to decorate cookies, make a bunny craft, play a hopping game, get their faces painted, and do an egg hunt!

Molly had a fish painted on her cheek. :)

Alex picked a monkey. :)

Snow Fort!

On Monday night/Tuesday morning it snowed several inches here! It also was a beautiful day (sunny with a high around 40 degrees). Josiah and Gideon were here, and we all played in the back yard and made a snow fort!

Here is the awesome snow fort we built!

Here is another picture. Yes, the two-yr-olds DID have hats and mittens on when we started playing outside... they just took them off toward the end. :) It was really fun to have one last (hopefully it's the last!) day to play in the snow before spring sets in.

Mr. Independence

Alex is Mr. Independence. He insists on doing everything possible by himself, and he does not ask for help unless he was unable to do it himself. This is yet another personality trait that I think will great for him when he's older. However, at age 2 it can be a little scary!

This morning, I found Alex toasting his own waffle.

I walked into the kitchen to find him standing on a chair that he had pushed up to the counter where the toaster was. The toaster was in the process of toasting a blueberry waffle. Alex was holding the bag of waffles and was putting the clip back on the top to seal the bag shut. He had gotten the frozen waffles out of the freezer all by himself, unclipped the bag, taken out a waffle, put it in the toaster, and figured out how to toast it (we have a new toaster with several buttons). Scary!

I asked him what he was doing. He said, "Making waffle!" He was so proud of himself! We had a little talk about how only grown ups should use toasters and how he needs to ask Mommy to make his waffles. If only he would!

Beautiful Como Conservatory

We went to the Como Park Conservatory today. The flowers were beautiful, and it was so nice to be somewhere that felt warm and summer-like. I love taking photos of the kids with the flowers in the background. Here are some of my favorites:

Random Fun

I usually put my hair up in a towel after showering, and Molly calls it my "towel hat". Last week after a bath, both Molly and Alex requested their own towel hats. They thought they were so funny. :)

We went bowling with some friends. Molly and Alex LOVED it.

Here they are with their friend Courtney.

Alex savors his ice cream sandwiches... and this happens. :)
Notice the Elmo sweatshirt? For about 2-3 months, this has been Alex's most favorite shirt. He requests it, and if he sees it in his closet he refuses to wear anything else. The funny thing is that he loves Elmo but does not like to watch Sesame Street or Elmo on TV.
