Molly wants another pinata...

Yesterday Molly and I caught a bit of a news story about how a new Guinness World record was set for the largest pinata ever to be made and broken. The news story showed footage of an enormous multicolored donkey that was broken with a mob of people there to catch the 8000 lbs of candy inside. If you want to see photos of it or read more about it, look HERE.

Pinatas and candy are two of Molly's favorite things, so of course she got VERY excited and started talking all about how wonderful it would have been to be there when that pinata was broken. She quickly moved on to talking about how she hopes that for her next birthday party she can have a pinata that is too big to fit in our house so it has to be in our back yard and everybody can break it and toys and candy will pour out. Yeah.

Today at supper, Molly blurts out to Cory, "Dad, I want to have a pinata for my next birthday that is too big to fit in the house. It will be huge and in our back yard, and when it breaks there will be toys and candy for everyone!!!"
I started laughing and told Cory that Molly had told me the same thing yesterday.
Molly continued describing her dream pinata, and Cory asked, "Who is going to pay for this pinata and everything inside?"
M: Me and you and you (pointing at herself and me and then Cory).
C: Really? All of us?
M: Yes, we will have to put all of our money together for it.
C: (Laughing) Yes, it would take all of it to have a pinata that big.
M: (thinking hard) We can make the outside part of it and then just buy the candy and toys for the inside. We can get the tissue paper and all the stuff we need to make it ourselves, and...... she went on and on with her plan.

Will the candy obsession ever end?

----
On a sweeter note, this afternoon Molly brought me a Thank-you note that she had written to me entirely unprompted. I was actually working on Christmas thank-you's this morning at MOPS, but I don't think she had any idea I was doing that.
Here's what she wrote on her Hello Kitty paper:
Thank you for the food we eat. Thank you for the toys we get.

Awe. :)
